  • Overview

    Under minimal supervision and autonomy, the Pipe Stress Engineer will provide pipe stress analysis and mechanical engineering support to assigned projects specific to the Gulf Coast markets and ensures the development of effective designs, drawings and documentation to achieve client/owner requirements as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and project execution team. May act as a lead engineer for assigned projects. The candidate will possess strong knowledge of composing and preparing requisition packages for heavy oilfield, petrochemical and LNG mechanical equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Reports directly to the department’s Mechanical Engineering Manager for work process and job assignments
    • Will be required to work on multiple projects assigned by management and leadership.
    • May lead the activities assigned to junior Engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of documents and drawings produced.
    • Ensure drawings and engineering documents are accurate and complete
    • Produce detailed designs for a particular segment ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, etc).
    • Develop pipe stress reports as a result of the electronic analysis preformed.
    • Deliverables are accurately presented within timeframe and manpower budget.
    • Bring solution to complex problems. 
    • Review and resolve interdisciplinary design and technical issues to ensure the most effective and efficient design is adopted.

    Qualifications

    • Eight to ten years of applicable industry experience using CEASAR (or equivalent) pipe stress analysis software and applicable piping codes.
    • Strong understanding of specifications for compressors, pumps, exchangers, flares, tanks, relief valves, piping systems, etc. for energy or petrochemical facilities is preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
    • Tenacious, results oriented approach to work, with high quality work standards.
    • Impeccable personal and professional ethics.
    • Minimal travel involved.
