  • Overview

    Coordinate work assignments for I/E & control systems designers and drafters. Provide direction and coordination of I/E design for large industrial projects in midstream gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemical, and upstream oil & gas industries

    Responsibilities

    • Act as a lead designer for selected projects
    • Develop/Check one lines, area class, duct banks, lighting, cable tray, heat trace, grounding, building plans, instrument location plans, conduit and cable schedule, wire diagrams, schematics, panel schedules, I/O cabinet drawings, elevations and multiloop drawings
    • Interact with all engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients
    • Provide input to the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for all projects
    • This activity includes the recommendation of appropriate staffing for each design activity and determination of time to completion for each task on the project schedule
    • Provide man hour and equipment estimates for project proposals
    • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize department efficiency
    • Determine staffing requirements
    • Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
    • Self-motivated with skills to motivate others

    Qualifications

    • 12+ years industrial I/E design experience with supervisor experience, 15+ preferred
    • Experience providing engineering support for process plants, compressor stations, and oil and gas projects
    • The most ideal candidate will come from a similar background and have I/E experience
    • AutoCAD required
    • Working knowledge of NEC and API 500
    • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
    • Ability to lead a 10+ person department
    • Experience in staff development
    • Record of success developing team culture
    • Ability to provide oversight for several simultaneous projects
    • Strong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Well developed, detail oriented organizational skills
    • Overtime may be required to meet work demands
