    Provide leadership and support for all Procurement and Supply Chain functions and initiatives on assigned projects and as otherwise needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership, direction, and support to position Saulsbury Industries (SI) as an injury free work place
    • Provide leadership, direction and support for SI’s procurement function as assigned, on projects
    • Identify & qualify potential new suppliers and process the documentation to include in the company approved supplier list.
    • Oversee the preparation and issue of Request for Quote (RFQ) to selected bidders as per project procurement strategy and coordinate RFQ and organize commercial and technical bid clarifications with Engineering, Project Procurement Management & Project Management department.
    • Review quotations of bidders and bid analyses to issue recommendation for award
    • Drive negotiations in close cooperation with Project Manager to arrive at most favorable situation for SI
    • Manage the Project Procurement function in its entirety from PO issue to Material receipt onsite
    • Participate and represent Procurement in Project Planning and Execution discussions
    • Facilitate and oversee the proper close-out of project purchase orders.
    • Participate in Project Meetings as required and serve as department’s representative in project review meetings with management
    • Support the development of procedures and application of Best Practices and work instructions for the Procurement group to promote consistency and standardization.
    • Support the Supply Chain Director in developing, implementing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that measure the department’s base line performance data and demonstrate improvements in performance and other process improvement initiatives.
    • Monitor trends in supplier and market movements, informing the Leadership Team of events that could affect supply and price, and develop plans to mitigate the risk to SI project
    • Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and vendors
    • Liaise with the Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices
    • Resolve vendor grievances and claims against SI.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of ten years purchasing experience with commodities common to industrial construction
    • Experience in the procurement of engineered equipment for the oil and gas, refining and/or petrochemical industries is highly desirable
    • A minimum of five years supervisory experience incorporating the development and administration of personnel, and departmental budgets and reporting
    • Construction related procurement experience, particularly field experience, highly preferred
    • Ability to read and understand commercial implications of specifications, drawings, documents and other related information.
    • Ability to identify commercial risk and minimize associated consequences.
    • Excellent negotiation skills and knowledge of commercial terms and conditions
    • In depth knowledge of “best practices” in purchasing
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Excellent interpersonal relations skills
    • Professional, ethical, team player willing to grow with the company
    • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and work in an environment of changing priorities
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Willingness to travel
