Assist lead estimators in the development of take-offs, estimates, subcontract quotes and material pricing.


  • Report to Lead estimator and Project Manager as assigned to support IFC takeoffs
  • Assist in the development of detailed estimates in accordance with the scope of work, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare quantity take-offs, determining manpower, equipment requirements, material items and subcontractors
  • Assist in the solicitation of quotes from material and equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and specified manufacturers
  • Distributes and maintains control of bid documents per Lead estimator direction
  • Train and become proficient with MC2 (Estimating Software)
  • Train and become proficient with Cloud EPC (Progress and Performance Software)
  • Reconcile quantities to original estimate and capture changes via change management procedure
  • Schedules and conducts bid review meeting with the Division Manager, Estimating Manager, and/or business line management to finalize estimate



  • Completed at least two years of a four year Civil Engineering program
  • 0 or greater GPA
  • Eighteen (18) years of age or older
  • Possess U.S. work authorization
  • Available to work full-time throughout the internship period
  • Willing to accept either field construction assignments or office assignments involving periodic field trips to construction projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Recommendations from two sources, one of which must be from the faculty or academic advisor
  • Punctual and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work collaborative as part of a team
  • Microsoft Office software proficiency
  • Knowledge of engineering through coursework
  • Ability and willingness to learn and use engineering design software and data analysis tools, as directed
  • Possess basic problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups
  • Ability to interact with mentors and peers in a manner that supports collaboration and inquiry
  • Ability and willingness to work within guidelines and policies of the organization and assigned work groups
  • Ability to perform work requiring reaching, bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 15 lbs.), finger dexterity, and exposure to construction site environments which may involve changing environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures, uneven terrain, mud, wet, dust and fumes.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when necessary.
