Overview

The Director Supply Chain will be responsible for operations of the Subcontracts organization on highly significant contract and business matters. Administers activities associated with contracts for services, purchase of equipment, materials, or products. Participates in and/or conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contact activities. 

Responsibilities

  • Understand the critical goals and success factors of SI’s projects and effectively develop, negotiate, and manage key subcontracts to support project needs in compliance with company requirements.
  • Apply advantaged commercial structures, deep knowledge of industry and regional cost drivers and applicable laws to create value for SI. Minimize subcontracts related risks, scope growth and disputes. 
  • Engage in both competitive and collaborative interactions as situationally appropriate to identify and select qualified subcontractors who best meet SI requirements.
  • Provide sub-contract support for pricing and commercial term development during RFP estimating phase.
  • Work closely with Project Management team to develop contracting Plan/Strategy during early phase of project development.
  • Manage and measure subcontractor performance throughout project life cycles.
  • Support projects in their contracting efforts and provide oversight and assistance in the management of commercial issues
  • Create mutually advantaged long term relationships with proven high performing subcontractors. Identify capable new subcontractors who complement SI’s plans for growth.   
  • Lead all commercial activities in a manner compliant with SI’s core values, modeling unquestioned integrity and focus on safety.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of contracting and procurement policies and procedures, and how to apply them.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in prioritizing multiple tasks, monitoring progress, and managing efforts in order to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working with others in a multifunctional team.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience including site based subcontracts management.
  • Undergraduate 4-year degree required. MBA a plus.
