    Construction Field Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Implement and encourage best safety practices and full compliance with Saulsbury safety procedures
    • Ensure Saulsbury’s core values are demonstrated throughout every aspect of project execution
    • Thorough competency with construction drawings/Specifications/engineering documents and familiarity with the construction process for all disciplines
    • Work closely with site management, design/project engineers, vendors and subcontractors to facilitate communication and resolution of any issues that arise on the project
    • Responsible for tracking/monitoring construction progress and performance, timely identification of performance trends, and active recommendation of corrective actions when appropriate.
    • Lead/instruct quantity surveyors (as applicable) and generate progress reports
    • Actively participate in the creation, monitoring, and maintenance of project schedule(s) and associated commodity curves
    • Work closely with internal or third party engineering, maintain current drawing list, and identify any changes in transmitted documents. Actively monitor and implement document control system for revision integrity of documents being utilized in the field.
    • Create and maintain RFI logs. Responsible for the identification and creation of RFI’s and facilitating communication and resolution between engineering and construction Project and site management
    • Maintain notice log, ensure communication of any changes or impacts are executed in full compliance with the contract and Saulsbury’s change management practices
    • Estimate and prepare change orders for project scope changes
    • Prepare material takeoffs and material submittals / requisitions
    • Prepare/Reconcile material requisitions and coordinate deliveries. Ensure materials are on site and available per the project schedule. Works closely with material management personnel to ensure material orders are accurate, received, staged, and ready for installation.
    • Oversee red line drawings are completed for all field variances and communicated back to engineering
    • Work to resolve any interferences or discrepancies by facilitating communication between owner, engineer, and construction through the RFI process.
    • Ensure construction compliance with contract documents including reporting, notice requirements for changes, and scope/specifications.
    • Interact, develop and maintain a positive working relationship with personnel at all levels
    • Provide QAQC Support and facilitate communication between field supervision and QC
    • Coordinate turnover package documentation for preparation and submittals in compliance with contractual requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Fully engage with Project Manager and Superintendents throughout the construction life cycle. Encourage and facilitate open communication and planning.
    • Coordinate field activities and actively monitor ALL crafts and disciplines
    • Begin with the end in mind – implement best practices to ensure effective transition to system turnovers early in the project.
    • Actively monitor material and subcontractor status
    • Manage subcontractors scope and activities to ensure efficient execution
