Saulsbury Industries is seeking an Engineering Technician to support industrial construction sites located throughout the United States. The primary location for this position will be in Dallas, TX. However, the successful candidate must be willing to travel for short durations to support projects as necessary.



Engineering Technician must have prior experience in construction, project controls, and/or document management. Including Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and/or Instrumentation installations, typically through experience in a variety of facilities including chemical, refinery, paper mill, power, manufacturing, and maintenance. The Engineering Technician must be able to work productively and follow all safety regulations and procedures.


  • Safety:
    • Be proactive in all aspects of safety.
    • Participation and support the site HSE program through site walks and safety considerations during design and planning.
    • Ensure all safety requirements of the following are adhered to: confined space, scaffolding use, fall protection, LOTO procedures, etc.
  • Document Management:
    • Management of documents for both large and small projects to support construction efforts in the field.
    • Download and management of transmittals.
    • Ensure all documents in the field are the most up to date.
    • Document and submitting Requests for Information (RFIs).
    • Research and compile submittals.
    • Assist in RFP to IFC true-up processes.
    • Assist in the development of Individual Work Packages (IWP).
    • Assist in the development of turnover documentation for all construction projects.
    • Maintain red line drawings, as-built drawings and other field record documents required as turnover records.
  • Technical Support:
    • Extensive experience in MS Office programs. Primarily Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to read, review and analyze drawings and specifications.
    • Develop take-offs from drawings for estimate development.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required based on experience.
  • 3+ years of industrial experience in construction, project controls and/or document management.
  • Power experience is a plus.
  • Capable of performing work associated in industrial conditions imposed by the job – outdoors, varying heights, varying climates
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills
  • Computer literacy with thorough knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, etc. a must.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a diverse multi-craft team environment
  • Knowledge of standards, codes and applicable construction methods
  • Knowledge of installations of hazardous classifications
