Overview

Directs and controls all field activities and functions related to the material management staff, as well as, all activities relative to procurement, receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance of material and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Insures that Safety Policies are understood by and adhered to by all Material Management personnel.
  • Supports site management by overseeing all activities related to the receipt, storage, and issuance of equipment and material for the job site.
  • Ensures that all Material Management personnel understand and adhere to company processes and procedures associated with the foregoing.
  • Oversees purchasing activity as it relates to material short falls.
  • Ensures that materials and equipment received at the project site are properly inspected, marked, and identified
  • Ensures that material is properly stored, maintained, and documented.
  • Records and reports the status of procurement, receiving, issuance, and inventory activity related to equipment and material daily and weekly.
  • Investigation and resolution of invoice discrepancies.
  • Establishes and conducts training programs for new employees in material management project procedures

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented and strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic work environment within defined deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with consistent follow-through.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Motivated; a “self-starter”; able to work independently.
  • 4 plus years’ experience in Industrial Construction
  • 2 plus years’ experience in Materials Manager
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proficient computer skills are required including use of all Microsoft office applications.
