The Project Quality Lead position is a critical role that is assigned to projects to plan, coordinate and lead the on-site quality control function for the project.

This role is implemented to provide a support service to the project with the goal of ensuring continuous production that is consistent with contractually defined requirements.

This role reports administratively to the Project Manager and functionally to the Division Quality Manager.


  • Works cooperatively with client representatives, Saulsbury Project Manager, Saulsbury Construction Management and subcontractors in a teamwork environment with transparent sharing of information to the benefit of the project and to Saulsbury Industries.
  • Develops and/or contributes to development of Quality, Inspection and Test Plans for the project and assures written client approval of this and other quality related documentation through the Project Manager.
  • Rolls out and implements the approved project Quality, Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Assures applicable competencies of all individuals assigned to quality tasks.
  • Oversees and assures the development and maintenance of project quality documentation and data.
  • Develops and issues weekly reports every week to the Project Manager with copy to the Division Quality Manager based on a reporting format defined and/or approved for the project by the Division Quality Manager.
  • Reports any discrepancies or concerns immediately upon discovery to the Project Manager and to the Division Quality Manager.
  • Provides quality-related guidance to other groups assigned to field projects.
  • Conducts in-process audits to determine adequacy and effectiveness of quality control activities being performed throughout the project to meet the requirements of the approved Quality, Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Assures all Quality Control personnel perform tasks safely and in accordance with all Safety, Environmental and Health related requirements applicable to the project.


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a project quality lead or related quality leadership role.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring and motivating multi-discipline teams of onsite quality personnel.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel and Word (additional MS Access experience is preferred)
  • Proven communication skills to foster an environment of teamwork with common goals.
  • Knowledge and experience working with codes including D1.1, 1, ASME Section IX.
  • Good written communication and reporting skills with proper use of grammar and spelling.

  • Experience in Boiler, Heater repairs and code work packages
  • Experience in Nuclear Power
  • Experience in Quality Control representing Construction contractors
  • Familiar with and/or knowledgeable of applicable regulatory statutes
  • Experience in managing project quality records and data
  • Experience in personnel training
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector
  • ASNT Certified NDE Technician
  • ISO Certified Lead Auditor
  • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence
  • PMI Project Management Professional Certification
